Mt Shasta Backpacking & Hiking Gear List

During the 2018 climbing season, we set out to get to the summit of Mt Shasta. The weather worked out, and over two days in June we were able to make it to the top. You can read all about the hike here. I wanted to make this post to share all of the gear that we used on the hike. This gear list does not include mountaineer boots, crampons, and gaiters, as we rented those from The Fifth Season in Mt Shasta. It also does not include food, which for us was a few freeze-dried meals, lots of candy bars, and Perfect Bars. Lastly, it doesn’t include clothing as well, but you want to make sure you have a pair of waterproof hiking pants, long underwear, base layer, mid-layer (puffy) and a shell (mine is included below). Hopefully, this list helps you find some of the products you are missing if you go on this hike and let me know what I left off in the comments.
