Underwood Family Farms is a great place to explore any time of the year, but especially in the fall season when their pumpkin patch is in full swing. This farm has been a staple of Ventura County for over 40 years, and people come from all over (especially Los Angeles) to visit the farm and buy fresh produce. The farm is located 45 minutes north of Los Angeles, and all of this information is from my visit to the pumpkin patch in October 2021. Here is all the information.
- Cost: $10 to get in and more for activities like the rides. Weekends are more, ranging from $16 to $22
- Fall Harvest Festival is during the weekends in October, but you can also visit on the weekdays, which is less busy.
- Location: 3370 Sunset Valley Rd, Moorpark, CA 93021
The farm is located in the city of Moorpark. You can access it via Highway 101 or Highway 118, and it is off Highway 23, which connects both. When you get to the farm, there is a large dirt parking lot with room for hundreds of cars.

After parking, you can proceed to the entrance, pay your $10, and then you are free to explore.
The farm is massive, and it had so much to do, making it great for a half-day adventure for the whole family.
To the left, when you enter, you will see the petting zoo and animals. They have lots of goats you can pet and many other animals you can look at, like emus and turkeys.
It’s a great animal area, and it is nice that it doesn’t cost more like many of the other farms.
From there, you can see some old farm equipment on display before making your way back towards the pumpkin area.
The pumpkin area is the biggest of any pumpkin patch I went to this year, and it’s enormous, making it great for families that want to take some fun fall photos.
They have an area full of specialty pumpkins, like yellow pumpkins, some with warts and even bluish ones.
One of the best photo areas was by the large tractor with lots of different pumpkins stacked at the base.
In this area, they also had tractor rides, pumpkin blasters, and a few other activities that you could buy tickets for.
During the weekends, they have pig races, and it is a blast to come for a harvest party? But it is a lot busier than a weekday.
You can continue to explore and buy pumpkins or participate in the other activities making a full day out of the experience if you would like.
I visited tons of pumpkin patches during the 2021 Fall season, and I have to say that Underwood was probably my favorite. Let me know what you think if you visit in the comments!
