Beach House Half Moon Bay Hotel Review

If you are looking for a great hotel in the Half Moon Bay area, then be sure to check out the Beach House. Located on Highway 1, right next to the extremely popular Sam’s Chowder House, this quaint hotel overlooks the ocean, with half of the rooms having ocean views. I got to stay there for two days and was incredibly impressed with my time there, here is all the information.

Getting There
The hotel is located right off Highway 1 in the northern part of Half Moon Bay, technically in the city of El Granada. It is right next to Sam’s Chowder House, and you will see it while driving down Pacific Coast Highway.
The Hotel
The hotel is situated on a small hill, which gives you fantastic views of the ocean, right out the window of the ocean view rooms, or by walking down to the beach.
It has a beautiful main lobby where you can relax on the couches or eat the continental breakfast they serve at one of the tables.
As far as the continental breakfast goes, it has everything you would expect, such as fruit, pastries, bagels, and coffee. The best part about it is that they give you trays so that you can take the food back to your room and enjoy your view. I did that both mornings I was there, as you couldn’t beat the view.
The Room
I was in the junior suite, which is one big room but with two levels. One level was a living area with a couch and chairs, along with a fireplace, sink, and microwave.
The upper level (two stairs up, so slightly higher) had the bed, a desk, and a TV. The layout was a fantastic way to set the room up as you could literally see the ocean while lying in bed.
The bathroom was large with a separate bathtub and shower, a tiled floor, and two sinks. Lastly, there is a patio with two chairs which you can sit at and watch the waves crash in front of you.
I was incredibly impressed with this room, the layout was perfect for me, and the views were amazing. Add to that the beach trail that lets you walk to Sam’s Chowder House, and it makes for an experience that is hard to beat.
