Malibu City Guide: Hiking, Beaches, Seafood & A Wine Safari

Malibu is known worldwide as a place where the rich and famous buy beach homes in the shadow of Los Angeles; however, it is so much more than that when you take the time to explore it. This stretch of coastline is one of the prettiest in Southern California, with the vast Santa Monica Mountains on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Whether it’s going for a hike, sitting on the beach, or eating some seafood, Malibu has a lot to offer the explorer. Here are a few of my favorite spots.

Malibu Beaches

The beaches in Malibu are some of the best on the West Coast, with El Matador State Beach being a personal favorite of mine. Check out some of the beaches below but do get there early as parking is always tough in Malibu.

Malibu Hikes

Whether it is hiking along the beach at Point Dume or heading up into the mountains to summit Sandstone Peak, Malibu has some great spots to get out and stretch your legs.

Malibu Waterfalls

There are multiple waterfalls that flow in Malibu, but I would recommend only going to find them in the spring as most dry up over the summer. Here are a few of my favorites.

Malibu Wine Safari

Yep, you read that right, in Malibu, you can actually go on a wine safari. This unique experience is put together by Malibu Wines and you tour the back property first to see all of the animals then you finish it with a tasting flight at the winery.

Malibu Restaurants

Seafood is what you are looking for in Malibu, since it is so close to the ocean and they always get some of the freshest fish. Here are a few of my favorite spots.
